Like it or not all websites try and sell something. It might be a product, a service, registration for a forum, sign up for a newsletter, or even just subscribe to your RSS feed. Once you acknowledge this you can start building what is called “the sales funnel” in which you help appease the needs of a prospect in order to increase conversion rate.
The sales funnel can be broken down into the following cateogries:
- Prospecting
- Discovery
- Qualification
- Conversion
